CONICS AND MORE CONICS!!!!!!!!!!!
We have been learning a heck of a lot about conics. so thats where ive been lately...learning about conics, or cawnics in mr max's case. anyways yes yesterday we learned about how to graph conics and such. i think i get it. we'll see how much i understand by the time the test comes around. conics seem to be easy though and i like it so far.

No name
Bracelet, table, necklace, wow. i thought they were the same, apparently not. As i found out when we did our little table experiment in the cafeteria, watch out for the rotten fruit...kristin, and i also found out if we sat on our heads we'd be the same as a bracelet. bracelets move around but not people around tables.

Perms and Coms examples
We did more examples of factorials, and the fundamental counting principle, and its great. so far so good. i got 43% on the test, and that seems to be my average im beginngin to like accelerated math because it is making me have a 67 in the class. yay. it is a good thing. i got to do the question on perms for the test tomorrow. so thats where ill be, bye

PERMUTATIONS AND COMBINATIONS
Wanna hear the summary of perms and coms. here we go...
PERMS:
big number
order matters
nPr=n!/(n-r)!
COMS:
small number
order doesnt matter
nCr=n!/(n-r)(r)!
That about sums it up.

BOBBIE BEAR
I learned probability yes i did. this was in a way just jogging our memory from grade 9 but we also learned a new kind of formula. (K)(L)(M)
This is called the fundemental counting principle.
Wanna learn something else...ok you convinced me...
FACTORIAL NOTATION its this thing that if you have 4! means (4)(3)(2)(1) and ya it really just equals 24. i really dont feel like writing about this anymore so bye.

LOGARITHMIC WORD PROBLEMS
45 mins later and i should have learned how to do some word problems of decay and growth but i really dont think i have. we learned some new formulas...i dont like them i dont understand them and i AM going to have some trouble using them. joy. grrrr not having fun. not at all.

NATURAL LOGARITHMS!!!! examples
It was a day of donuts...and milk. and natural logarithms, does it really get better than that
?? i think not. we did a billion examples of natural laws that we help us on our accelerated math accelerated math accelerated math math math math...thats all i hear these days. but if i got caught up i would quit hearing about it. ill get right on that this weekend. k bye

Work Class...again...
Yesterday was a work class and we had a chance to do any unfinished exercises and accelerated math assigments that we have to catch up on. i failed 4 accelerated maths and i was slightly disappointed...but maybe ill get it next time. very behind on accelerated math at the moment so its time to catch up i think.

LN not LAWN
i dont even have half a clue about this. not even a third of a clue. im just so darn lost. all i know is that e=2.71828.....
i dunno why or what that has todo with anything at all. and i know how it looks like on a graph. i havent done exercises 21-24 so thats probably why im so lost. in fact i dont even knwo what the NATURAL LAW IS!!?!?!?!???!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?
please do tell.

LST LG LW!!!!
k thr s 1 lst lw n lgs. xtrmly nrvs fr th tst.
So we have a new log law...as i mentioned above. i dont think i quite know how to do these. like i kinda do but i definately dont know enough for the test.
and to make this class more learnable i actually wouldnt change much. i need examples to know how to do the questions and i liek the way things are being done. fantastic.

tests, pretests, keys, ect ect ect
Mr maks kindly gave us back our tests today and i did GOOD well better. lets not get crazy. but instead of 19% like last time i got a 42%!!!! woo hoo. this is good bc my goal was 30%. so as long as i learn this stuff by the exam ill be a happy girl. im gonna woerk on the pretest tonight and see if i can do these questions by MYSELF.

Another Work Class! ! ! ! ! !
Well now that i have a follower life is good. and its getting even better...MORE TIME TO PRACTICE MATH! that is good. test is still on thursday and i have got to get these assignments done!! because there is going to be a homework check and caity is right...the only assignment that isnt done will for sure be the one i get checked. so i better get on that.

Work Classsssssssssssss
Hey there. so its a work period as you may have gathered from the title. and i am trying to do the practice test for thursday this week. yup test again. i can actually know how to do some of this stuff...like sum/difference identities, finding exact values, making both sides equal the same thing...proving identities i think thats what its called, and double angle identiteis. im not very good at simplifying equations, or using extraneous roots. but at least i can do the majority of these things. awesome.

DOUBLE ANGLE IDENTITIES!!!!!
Yes...there are more. I understand how to use the new identities. Still liking this stuff. All it seems to be is plugging numbers into equations or identities in this case. And if you can solve the equations you're good to go. I am even starting to recognize identities which is just fantastic. yay.

sum difference identities :(
AHHHHHHHHH! that is how i feel. i dont know what thw heck is going on today. this is just hard. the new identities are simple enough..plugging in numbers. i can handle that. however... ... the question of "find the exact value of tan(75 degrees) was absolutely ridiculous. i still dont know how we got the answer.
Oh boy...
Oh boy...

EXTRANEOUS ROOTS!!!!!!!
Ok boys and girls. so an extraneous root is something that seems to work but in reality does not work. the only way to find out which answers do not work is to do a check...with your calculator. sounds simple enough. but lets just wait and see.

SIMPLIFICATION TECHNIQUES!!!!
We learnt problem solving techniques for proving identities. There are 8. In order to solve these questions i think im going to need to memorize some of the basic identities. Otherwise im not gonna be able to do these in a million years. I guess i gotta try out some questions to see if i get it or not. We'll see... ...

TRIG IDENTITIES
Trig identities look like equations, and formulas that involve sin, cos, cot, tan, sec, and csc equalling each other. That was my 1st impresion of these things. But whats 'v' and 'u'!?!?!?!!!?!?
I like this. i enjoy plugging numbers into a fomula and finding the answer. and since i understand why all the basic identities exist i understand how to do the questions. And the "triangle, square, circle" illustartion definately made the most sense in why 1/tan(x)=cos(x)/sin(x). i think im gonna like this.

TEST 2
We had our 2nd test yesterday and im shooting for a 30%!!!!! lets cross our fingers. my goal is to get a better mark then the last test....

TEST RETURN... ...
So we got tests back today...and i did about as good as i thought i would have done. However i think that tomorrow the test should go a little bit better because even though i dont know the new stuff i will be able to get marks on the old material. Thats the fabulous thing about cumulative tests.

HOMEWORK CHECK!!!!!
Today we did a homework check on exercises 1-10 and i...was not done. It would have been alot better if i had been done a few questions on each lesson because then i would at least have gotten partial marks..but oh well. Note to self...do the questions i understand!
Now im gonna go do accelerated math because i foiund that doing accelerated math helps a bunch for preparing for the tests.

RECIPROCAL FUNCTIONS!
Reciprocal is easy to understand because all it means is A/B becomes B/A. so when a function has a reciprocal all it means is 1/f(x) instead of f(x)/1. Im not sure how to find the asymptotes but i do know that when you know where they are you start the function going the opposite of (lessering/greatering) and do it pointing toward the asymptote without crossing that line...if that makes any sense. it kinda does to me. I just need to figure out how to know where the asymptote of the function is.

REFLECTIONS!!!!!
F(x) to -F(x) flips across the x-axis and thats great. its about the only one i understand because the other ones have no patterns to figure out the new functions. oh well.

HORIZONTAL/VERTICAL STRETCHING AND COMPRESSING!!!!
So every number being used is backwards of what i would normally think. like if something is 1/2 its actually bigger, and 2 it becomes smaller. so that will take awhile to get ised to. but so far so good. this doesnt seem like rocket science so i think everything should go not too badly. if the number is outside the brackets that means its "A" and its a vertical stretch or ompresion and if the number is inside the brackets its "B" and is a horizontal stretch or compression.

TRANSLATIONS!!!
I understand the new stuff from today about transformations and what formula to use in order to move functions around on a graph. the formula is y=f(x-h)+k...where h moves the function left to right and the k moves it up and down.

GRAPHING TRIG FUNCTIONS!!!
I never did get graphing so this could be interesting.
Never too late to learn i guess...until the test!!!
We learned some new words in regards to graphing..amplitude, and period. amplitude is the distance from either the x-axis to the maximum value or from the x-axis to the minimum value. and period is the area where the function repeats itself.

SOLVING TRIG EQUATIONS OVER REAL NUMBERS!!
We did some examples today of solving trig equations over with the set of real numbers as our domain. I dont understand much... well i get it when its explained but to apply it to a question i wouldnt have a clue. I understand the solution but i dont know howto get there.
we'll see how this goes... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

HUMPDAY!
So its wednesday, middle of the week...im tired and dont get this stuff one bit. but tomorow i will probably understand it more bc it will have time to think about the new stuff. Im not sure what this new stuff is called but i can use my chart for some of the answers which is great.

WorkClass!!!
Didnt learn anything new today but thats totally fine with me. Im getting how to do this stuff. and can teach it to other people which helps me too. And currently i have 100% in this class!!

ACCELERATED MATH QUESTIONS!
Monday...we did about 4 example questions about the stfuf that we learned on friday..which i dont remember. but doing actual examples helped because then i can see how the information applies to problem questions. And i finally get how to do the chart. Knowing that there are some negaive numbers depending which quadrant youre in will help too.

CHART!!
This chart is so confusing, but im gonna try it since i now know that only 2 triangles are involved and at which point on the unit circle you use each triangle.

UNIT CIRCLE...NEW TRIG FUNCTIONS
We just finished labelling our unit circle. I learned that every thirty degree angle increasing is the same as one sixth pi. I also learned that there are 3 additional trig functions to the sin, cos, and tan that we already know. There is csc, sec, and cot...which are all reciprocals of the 3 known trig functions.
SUBSTITUTE!!
So yesterday we had a substitue teacher and went to the cafeteria because it was way too hot up here. While we were down there we were to work on our Exercise 1+2, and any questions on our first accelerated math that we knew how to do. I didnt really know what to do so i got help from Brett and Fuddie...thanks guys.
